Full Description
St John the Evangelist. Very high up, with views on all sides, at the start of the path to Foreland Point. [1] Gunner Basil Pennicott of the Royal Artillery was killed in August 1940 and is buried in the churchyard. His headstone is maintained by the CWGC. [2] The church is depicted as a side view on the 1840 Lynton Tithe map, shown in an open area. [3] The churchyard is depicted on the c. 1841 Countisbury Tithe map. [4] The churchyard is depicted on the 2021 MasterMap data. [5]
