Full Description
SS 69109 39240. A ploughed over hollow way on the north side of Wallover Down was noted during field survey in 2017. It is visible as a reed filled hollow, 6 metres wide and 1 metre deep, and runs southwest to northeast for some 230 metres from Wallover Down to Goat Combe, towards Shoulsbarrow Common. It is the remains of a routeway from the farms to the west giving access to the main areas of summer grazing in the former Royal Forest (MEM22088), and may date to the early medieval period. [1]
