Full Description

SS 69052 38968. The ploughed over earthwork remains of a quarry with a spoil mound to the north was noted during field survey in 2017, lying on the western side of Wallover Down. The quarry pit is 15 metres north to south by 31 metres east to west and 1.5 metres deep. It is mapped on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map and is part of a larger area of stone extraction on Wallover Down, probably dating from the 19th Century. [1,2]
