Full Description

The Tithe Map for Withypool depicts a large road bridge at c. SS 8442 3545. [1] The bridge is not shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition map. There is a new bridge shown further to the east (MSO8671). [2] The northern bank of the river was viewed from a public footpath on the south side during a field visit in June 2021. Although heavily obscured by vegetation, it appears that the ruined stone footings for the bridge were still visible in this location. [3]
