Full Description
A rectangular building (SS 8573 3776) with a small outbuilding (SS 8573 3774) and enclosures is depicted on the Tithe Map for Exford at . It is labelled South Cott, owned and occupied by John Greenslade, and the appropriate field parcel references are listed below: 525: Garden; 526: South Cott Homestead; 527: Cleave Garden; 528: Garden; 529: Plantation; 530: Plantation. [1] The house and outbuilding are shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, together with further outbuildings at SS 8572 3777 and SS 8578 3769. The site is now labelled Southcott. Parts of the adjacent enclosures had been removed by this time, although some still had parts of their boundaries surviving. [2] The site is similarly shown on the 2018 MasterMap data to its layout in the late 19th Century, although the small outbuilding at SS 8578 3769 had been removed by this time. [3]
