Full Description

The site is shown as a clear area within a larger field on the Tithe Map for Exford. [1] The 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map depicts and labels a quarry at SS 8468 3588. Within the site is a building labelled Millcleave, with a further smaller building sited to the west at SS 8464 3589. The area is much subdivided. It is not clear if the quarry was still in use at this time. [2] The 2nd Edition map shows the two buildings, with the easternmost again labelled Millcleave. The quarry earthworks are depicted but not labelled. [3] The main building was labelled Mill Cleave on 2018 MasterMap data. The building to the west had been removed. Other buildings have been added to the southeast and southwest. [4]
