Full Description
The Tithe Map for Exford shows a rectangular building sited at SS 8536 3839, as part of a row of houses facing the road but slightly recessed from it. A stream is shown flowing to the southwest directly behind the property. It is labelled 1186, which the accompanying Apportionment states was leased by Osmond Locke and occupied by Robert Adams and others, as with other buildings in the row. [1] The house is also shown on the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map, apparently with the northeastern bay subdivided from the rest of the property. [2,3] The house is shown as one building on the 2018 MasterMap data. The stream to the rear of the property is no longer shown, presumably built over and/or rerouted. It is now labelled Juddscott and has been extended to the rear (southeast). [4] The property is visible on StreetView as a thatched house slightly recessed from the rest of the row. It is rendered, with painted timber casement windows and has a ground floor timber framed canopy with a tiled roof that runs for the length of the front elevation, filling in the gap of the recess from the road. The windows on the first floor are fitted with superficial shutters. [5]
