Full Description
The historic core of the village within the National Park boundary has been deduced using historic mapping available to the HER. [1-3] Kentisbury was Chentesberia in Domesday. Before the Conquest it belonged to Almar. In 1086 Baldwin the Sheriff held it. He granted it to the ancestor of the Lupus or Wolf family who held Kentisbury Manor for the next 500 years. [4]
