Full Description

SS 83476 32907. A large quarry with a flat topped mound at its northeastern end lies on the northern side of Hawkridge Plain. The pit is 20 metres north to south, 12 metres east to west and 3 to 4 metres deep; the mound is 5 metres north to south, 6.5 metres east to west and 1.8 metres high. It is marked "Old Quarry" on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. [1,2] The quarry is also depicted as an earthwork feature on modern MasterMap data. [3]
