Full Description

The site is shown as a clear area of a field on the Exton Tithe Map. [1] The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map shows a linear building at SS 9485 3631, orientated southwest to northeast and with several small enclosures abutting its southeastern elevation. The building is labelled Hill Cottage. [2] The building and enclosures appear to be shown on the 1946-8 aerial photographs taken by the Royal Air Force. [3] The building still appears to be extant and is now labelled Banksdown. It may or may not still be in use as residential accommodation. [4]
