Full Description

A group of hollowed and terraced tracks around the head of a combe were noted by Cornwall Council during a walkover survey of Burcombe. One track lies north to south and runs across the face of the side of the combe as a terraced way, with another crossing the head of the combe east to west and perhaps serving the extractive pit above it (MEM23950). These tracks vary from 2 metres to 7 metres in width. [1] During a follow up walkover survey the Mires Historic Environment Officer also noted the presence of several tracks in the area, perhaps connected to the mining activity on Burcombe. [2]
