A series of earthworks are marked on historic mapping, mainly following the contours of the Pennycombe Water valley. It is possible that these represent mining remains relating to the Blackland Iron Mine (MSO11725) and may be the site of trial excavations for the mine (also see MSO12346). [1,2]
