Full Description

The Tithe Apportionment shows a building at c. ST 0308 3737. The group of buildings in which it sits is labelled "Traphole". The land parcel reference has been obscured by the cartographer's illustration of the nearby hedgerow; however, it appears to be "1103", which unfortunately is not mentioned in the accompanying Apportionment document. [1] The property is again depicted on the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps and the site again labelled "Traphole". It is shown as a simple rectangular building abutting the river to the east, which appears to have been canalised since the Tithe Map was drawn to make room for the West Someret Mineral Railway. [2,3] Since the 2nd Edition map was surveyed, the building appears to have been subject to small extensions on its southern and western elevations. [4]
