Full Description
The Tithe Map for Winsford shows a linear building at c. SS 9059 3490. It is orientated east to west, adjacent to a ford and with the Winn Brook flowing to the west and north of the property. It has a small parcel of land to the south, along the bank of the brook. It is labelled 638, which the accompanying Apportionment describes as a house and garden occupied by Robert Williams, who leased the property from Sir Thomas Dyke Acland. [1] By the time the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed, the building had been demolished, presumably to make way for improvements to the river crossing (including footbridge MEM23597). [2]
