MEM23193 - Prehistoric clearance cairn on Lanacombe (Monument)

As part of the Exmoor Mires Project, Cornwall Council Historic Environment Service were contracted to undertake a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Lanacombe, which included this site. A clearance cairn was noted, visible as a small stony mound up to 1 metre in diameter and 0.1 metre high. Noted was a small stony mound measuring up to 1 metre in diameter and 0.1 metres high. The feature is most likely a clearance cairn of prehistoric date and forms part of the field system MSO7102. [2]
