MEM23188 - Prehistoric clearance cairn on Lanacombe (Monument)

As part of the Exmoor Mires Project, Cornwall Council Historic Environment Service were contracted to undertake a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Lanacombe, which included this site. A low vegetated stony mound was seen, measuring 2.5 metres in diameter and up to 0.1 metre high. The feature forms part of a field system of possible Bronze Age date. Noted was a low vegetated mound 2.5 metres in diameter and up to 0.1 metre high. The feature is most likely a clearance cairn of prehistoric date and forms part of the field system MSO7102. [2]
