Full Description
As part of the Exmoor Mires Project, Cornwall Council Historic Environment Service were contracted to undertake a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Lanacombe, which included this site. A spread of stones was seen, measuring approximately 4 metres in diameter and up to 0.2 metres high, with a concentration of stones forming a small mound on the southwest quadrant. The feature falls within, and is likely to be associated with, a field system of possible Bronze Age date.
