Summary

Seven stones were visible during field investigation in 2012. Some of these have quartz veining and all are most likely natural surface stones.

Full Description

Seven rocks were noted during a non intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. Many have obvious quartz veins. [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, which included this site. Noted were seven large rocks with quartz veining, all of which are most likely to be natural surface stones. [2]
