Full Description

A possible hollow way or partial platform was noted during a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. This is situated where two banks converge above a drainage ditch. There are traces of upcast and a deep erosion scar on northern side. The feature is cut by a drainage ditch. [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, which included this site. Noted was a feature which may represent a possible holloway, but it could also potentially be a product of erosion by draining water. The date of the feature is unknown. [2]
