Full Description

A hollow way was noted during a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. This feature is orientated northwest to southeast at 45 degrees to the slope. The feature appears to have a pronounced bank on the lower side c. 2 metres across and up to 0.5 metres high on the downslope side. It links with the main body of nearby hollow ways (MSO7088). [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park. This site was not visited in the field, but LiDAR data supports the original interpretation as a hollow way or relict field boundary. [2]
