Full Description
Milestone. Early C19. Sandstone and cast iron. Dressed stone, cambered head, attached plaque, semi-circular central raised section inscribed in incised letters: "13 Miles to Watchet". [1] The milestone could not be found during the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. [2] The stone was located during a follow up visit in April 2014, covered by vegetation and barely visible from the road. A small tree was leaning against it. It received a score of 4A. [3]
