Full Description
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in March 2012 on the site. A deposit of sandstone rubble in a clay silt matrix contained areas of grey silty loam and flecks of charcoal, together with quantities of animal bone evenly distributed throughout. The bone appeared to represent domestic food waste, though this is unclear. No dating evidence was recovered from the deposit but it was cut into by a linear feature containing later 17th Century pottery. [1]
