Summary

An earthwork platform in Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain.

Full Description

A charcoal burning platform in Culbone Wood, approximately 650 metres to the north-north-east of Broomstreet Farm on the edge of the steep cliffs to the east of Broomstreet Combe. The platform is circa 6 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. The rear of the platform is partly obscured or damaged by the line of a later track. The front, downslope edge is upstanding to a height of circa 1 metre. Charcoal is exposed in the platform surface. [1]
