Full Description
A charcoal burning platform in Culbone Wood centred on circa SS 8322 4868, about 520 metres north-north-west of Silcombe Farm. The level earthwork platform measures circa 8 metres by 4 metres, with the rear of the feature cut into the hill at an oblique angle up to 1 metre deep. The downslope side of the earthwork is built up by circa 0.7 metres. The surface of the platform is being eroded by deer. [1]
