An earthwork platform in Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain.

Full Description
A possible charcoal burning platform is recorded as an earthwork on the steep north facing slopes of Silcombe, approximately 480 metres northeast of Silcombe Farm at circa SS 8356 4863. The earthwork is approximately 11 metres long and 5 metres wide. The front edge of the platform is rounded and the rear formed by natural slippage on the hillslope. Small hazels are growing on the feature and the surface is being eroded by deer. [1]
