An earthwork platform in Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain.

Full Description

A possible charcoal burning platform is recorded as an earthwork on the lower slopes approximately 700 metres northwest of Silcombe Farm at circa SS 8295 4875. The earthwork is approximately 9 metres long and 5 metres wide, cut into the hillside by about 0.8 metres to the rear and built up by about 1.2 metre on the downslope side. The earthwork is suffering erosion probably caused by deer. [1]
