Full Description
An earthwork platform on the steep north facing slopes of Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The platform measures approximately 13 metres long east to west and 7 metres wide north to south. It is cut into the hillslope by about 1.5 metres and the front is largely formed by the fall of the hillslope. The rear of the platform has slumped and some mature oaks are growing on the earthwork.
