Summary

Two groups of posts of uncertain date, revealed by erosion on Porlock Beach. Probably originally timber stakes, the posts appear to have been replaced by iron, possibly as part of natural processes. One post removed for sampling.

Full Description

Two groups of posts of uncertain date revealed by erosion on Porlock Beach and recorded as part of archaeological monitoring. Interpreted as timber stakes in which the organic material of the posts has been replaced by iron or a similar ferrous substance, possibly as part of natural processes. One post has been removed for sampling. [1] Only the larger of the feature survives by 12th September 2003. [2]
