Full Description
SS 7467 3355. "New Whim Shaft". Part of Britannia Mine. Constructed 1852 and 1853 and may have reached the 10 fathom level. Its precise position is apparently obscured by insertion of a trackway. Shown on 1889 Ordnance Survey map as a small quarry. [1,2] The 25 inch 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps show the old quarry at SS 7466 3355. [2,3]
