Full Description

Victoria House, Lydiate Lane. Early 19th Century, 3 storey. 3 windows stone, plastered and limewashed. Set high at back of lawned garden with local stone retaining wall at front and on return east. Sash windows with glazing bars and segmental arches. Central entrance door with 6 fielded panels, and ornamental fanlight. [1] Victoria House, built into the slope, is an early 19th century house with symmetrical three-storey three-bay rendered frontage with central six-panel fielded door under a flat elliptical fanlight, and probably original sash windows with narrow glazing bars. [2] The building was visited in April 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [3] This structure appears to be visible on the 1840 Lynton Tithe map. [4]
