Description

The Defence of Britain Project ran from April 1995 to March 2002 under the auspices of the Council for British Archaeology. In that time, nearly 20,000 twentieth century military sites in the United Kingdom were recorded by 600 volunteers. The two databases developed by the Project can be searched online through the Archaeology Data Service (see linked Source record). "National Recording Project" applied to Associated Event Addresses to aid retrieval 2018.
