Description

A 2.15 metre long peat core was extracted from a small mire on Lanacombe (Great Buscombe). High-resolution pollen analysis and radiocarbon dating were subsequently undertaken on this core. The surrounding area has a particular abundance of prehistoric monuments including stone settings, cairns, barrows and putative field banks.
