Built into the hillside with flanking splayed retaining walls. Stone cross above. Full-height entrance to chamber with arch over spring inside. The spring water runs into an oval pool down the hill to the north-east, formed by stone rubble retaining walls. Nearby is the spot where the Revd Halliday is said to have stood and decided to build his house here. A small inscribed stone (the decision stone) marks the spot but was not seen at time of survey (July 1987) because of the dense undergrowth. Listing NGR: SS7927749162
